A while back I posted about my church praying over us as a ministry and what a blessing that was. I have a strong faith and knew that BIG things were going to happen as a result of that night. One of my favorite things about God is that He loves to do the unexpected, and He loves to surprise us with His mighty works. I did not try to "guess" what He was going to do (I have learned at this point I am always wrong!!) but I waited expectantly in anticipation of what was to come.
About a week ago I received a call from the a representative of another local ministry, called Christ Out Loud. Now, this ministry is quite different from mine and we really have not crossed paths often. Their heart is also to reach out for Christ and to win souls for the Kingdom, but they are doing it through music. I was privileged enough to attend one of their concerts (Kutless, among others, on the Believer Tour) and was very blessed by the experience and the very excellent way that the concert was conducted. I did not have the opportunity that night to meet anyone in the ministry, though, and really knew nothing about Christ Out Loud at the time. So to receive a personal call from them a couple of weeks later was a BIG surprise! Mr. Jimi Ottman asked some questions about our ministry and said he would like to speak with me in person. We met last week to talk about our ministries and what he hopes to do in our community.
During this meeting, he said he wanted to help us in our mission because he believes in the work we are doing. He shared with me that they are having an upcoming concert and that he would like to offer us the opportunity to sell tickets to this concert at the regular cost as a fundraiser for Arms Wide Open. The only real fundraiser we have ever done is to have a yard sale, so I am very excited about this new opportunity. On top of that, this concert will feature BIG DADDY WEAVE (when God works, He does things BIG!)!! This will be one of only a small number of tour dates from his Christ is Come tour, a very special Christmas event designed to glorify Christ in the season in which we celebrate His birth. This awesome opportunity is just one of the things God has planned for us, I can FEEL it! I know He is just starting, but I wanted to share this wonderful news!
